Mr. Lahr graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a B.S. in Mathematics, and later received his MBA from Creighton University. Since serving in the Navy, Mr. Lahr has twenty five years of experience in the energy industry. He joined the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) in 2000 as manager of the ABAG POWER Joint Powers Agency, the principle goal of which is to conduct pooled purchasing of electricity and natural gas on behalf of local governments and special districts.
Mr. Lahr has management oversight over ABAG and MTC energy initiatives, including the Bay Area Regional Energy Network (BayREN). As part of the staff consolidation between ABAG and MTC, Mr. Lahr now holds the position of Asst. Director for Energy Programs for MTC.
