The CPUC on May 10 is scheduled to vote on a Proposed Decision that provides guidance for a 2013-2014 “transition period” for the state’s energy efficiency programs. Important to local governments, and a victory for LGSEC, the Proposed Decision directs the creation of a pilot basis of local government Regional Energy Networks. The proposed decision would also expand financing for energy efficiency, works to address the differences between energy efficiency goals and potential energy savings, discusses the establishment of a new way to solicit programs, and will clarify areas of overlap on multi-family housing issues.
